Astro Village Takula Nainital : A first of its kind Astro Village is coming up in Takula Nainital , just 5 kms away from Naintal town with luxury cottages built with wood and glass roofs where you will be able to enjoy stargazing right from the rooms.
In collaboration with ARIES. It will be completely run by the local community and gov aim to create a community-run model which can be scaled up and replicated in other parts of Uttarakhand as well.
Efforts are on to develop new tourism potential in Nainital district. Very soon Takula village will be developed as Astro Village. For this, the government has given financial approval of 2.46 crores. With this amount, along with building a home stay in the village, the villagers will be linked with tourism employment. After the development of Astro Village, tourists will be able to know the mysteries of the universe by reaching here.
The MLA informed that the government is making efforts to develop the entire village as Astro Village. Homestays based on Pahari style will be built in the village using Almora stones and local wood. This will also encourage local handicrafts. By installing state-of-the-art binoculars in the village, tourists will be given cosmic vision.
