Uttarakhand Best Adventure Tourism Destination

Today, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, Uttarakhand was conferred with the best adventure tourism destination and all-round development of tourism by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar awarded this prize to the State Tourism and Culture Minister of Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaj.

Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand, Satpal Maharaj congratulated the people of Uttarakhand related to tourism on receiving this award. He exclaimed with joy that this was a moment of pride for the people of Uttarakhand. He said the Devbhumi heartily invites tourists from India and abroad to explore it. The tourism department is working on several projects to attract tourists to Uttarakhand.

Himalayan Darshan Service

On Tuesday, the service of Himalaya Darshan has also been launched by helicopter in Mussoorie. Satpal Maharaj said that with the introduction of the Himalaya Darshan Service, the number of tourists in the state will increase further. Tourists will be able to enjoy the high peaks of the Himalayas and the supernatural natural beauty of Uttarakhand by helicopter from George Everest. 

Photography and videography contest by Uttarakhand govt

Satpal Maharaj further added about the new initiative taken by the state government, that is, the launch of a photography and videography contest on the occasion of World Tourism Day. In this contest, photos and videos by the contestants will be invited online and categorized into five different categories. Prizes worth 25 lakhs will be distributed among the winners and runners-up. 

World Tourism Day

September 27, every year is marked as World Tourism Day. The United Nations has celebrated this day as World Tourism Day since 1980. This day marks the 10 years anniversary of the adoption of the Statutes of the Organization in 1970, paving the way for the establishment of UNWTO five years later.
