IMD issues a yellow alert for cold waves in Uttarakhand from December 18-21. The lowest temperature in the state on Friday,December 17 was recorded in Ranichauri (-2.7°C), Mukteshwar (0.2°C), Mussoorie (0.9°C), Pithoragarh (0.9°C), and New Tehri(1.4°C) as per IMD.
The temperature fall in the plains has increased because of continuous snowfall on the mountains.
In Uttarakhand, Badrinath, Kedarnath, and other peaks are being covered with snow, and cold winds
are in the low-lying areas.
