Due to a western disturbance that brought heavy rains to Uttarakhand’s plains last week, the higher reaches of Uttarakhand have been receiving an abundance of snow since last week. 

Snowfall in Uttarakhand

The hills of Uttarakhand have recently received fresh spells of snow, with the temperatures dropping sharply. Kedarnath and Badrinath also experienced sharp drops in temperature with the snowfall.  Despite clear skies in the plains of Uttarakhand .

The weather is constantly changing in the mountains. It is snowing daily in the high places in the afternoon. There has been heavy snowfall on the Satopanth trek, 20 km from Badrinath Dham. In October this year, the Satopanth trek is completely covered in snow. At this time, the view here is being made on sight. The pictures are witnessing how a white sheet of snow has been spread for 2 to 3 feet on every side.

 Shesh Netra Lake Partially Frozen

Several pilgrims visiting the Badrinath shrine before its portal shuts on November 20 have been blessed to see the frozen Sheshnetra lake near the shrine. This occurred due to heavy snowfall and a constant dip in temperature.The weather in Badrinath in the coming days will witness a drop and more snowfall can be expected which will eventually freeze the Sheshnetra lake to an extent that it could be possible to walk on its glass-like surface.
