200000 Pilgrims Visited Kedarnath in Char Dham Yatra 2021

Data gathered from the Kedarnath pilgrimage site indicates that over two lakh pilgrims have visited the holy shrine during the last 42 days. Among these pilgrims, people using helicopter services have numbered over 26000. 

Kedarnath Dham opened on 18 May 2021

This year Kedarnath dham was opened on 18 May 2021 at 5 in the morning. The opening dates of Kedarnath Dham, along with Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, have also been announced on the occasion of Mahashivratri this year. 

Since the opening of the portals of Kedarnath for the pilgrims across the country on September 18, the number of visitors that have been recorded is 2,00,231. This has brought a huge sigh of relief for the small and medium businesses that have been battered due to the pandemic since last year. With this record number of visitors, Kedarnath is the most visited shrine among all the Char Dham shrines.  

More than 26000 visitor used Kedarnath Helicopter Services

Even the helicopter services to Kedarnath have seen a boom as 26008 pilgrims used it. Presently, six helicopter companies are active at Kedarnath. Rajkumar Nautiyal, administrative officer of Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board, said that as the yatra period is nearing its end for this year, the number of pilgrims is increasing. And it is expected that by the time the portals of Kedarnath closes, the number of the mark of visitors may have crossed three lakhs.
