Nandhor Wildlife Century New Tourist Attraction Near Nainital : On the lines of Corbett, tourists will now be introduced to the adventures of the jungle through Gypsy in Nandhaur Century. For this 70 km area of ​​forest has been fixed. 18 applications have been received for Gypsy operation.

In 2012, 260 square meter area of ​​Haldwani Forest Division was declared as Century Area. It includes the forest of five ranges. The special thing is that it is a completely natural forest. With the safari scheme, where tourists
will be able to see wildlife like tigers, guldars, elephants and bears. At the same time, new employment opportunities will also be created for the local people.

The forest of Haldwani division is spread over Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat districts. Nine years ago, the forests of Nandhaur, Jaulasal, Danda, Chhakata and Sharda range were included in the century area. Since then,
there was a complete ban on any kind of cutting here. So that there is no danger to the habitat and food of the wildlife. According to the forest department, the safari scheme will be started to find tourism employment opportunities through the forest. For this two gates will be made. The first Chorgaliya will be held in Kakrali, Tanakpur. After registration, wildlife lovers can roam in the forest by booking a gypsy.

According to the old data of the Forest Department, 30 elephants, 28 tigers, 30 guldars, more than 60 bears, besides other wildlife including chital, sambar, lagoon are also found in the century. The Butterfly Zone built in the forest area inside Chorgalia will attract tourists a lot. Many rare species of butterflies are found here.

Apart from wildlife, Nandhaur Century also has special significance for the conservation of greenery. There is a 260 feet high Sal tree in the forest of Nandhaur range known as Mahavriksha. It is estimated
that its age is 200 years. Apart from this, 54 feet wide Semal tree which is more than 150 years old has been named Champion Tree.

The plan to take tourists for a visit in the forest through safari in Nandhaur Century will start soon. Entry will be through two gates. The century plays an important role in the conservation of the environment and wildlife.
