Kedarnath Dham Ropeway project : The journey to Kedarnath Dham will become easier in the near future Prime Minister Narendra Modi Dream Project Ropeway to Connect kedarnath taking a shape . For this purpose, a detailed project report (DPR) for the construction of the ropeway between Sonprayag and Kedarnath is being prepared.
Tenders have been invited For Hemkund Sahib and Kedarnath Dham Ropeway Project
There have been ropeway exercises at Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib, and we hope to attract private investors to build these ropeways. According to Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary of Tourism, there will be ropeway exercises at both sites.
Kedarnath Dham Ropeway project will be included in the longest ropeway in the world. Its length will be about 11.5 km and it will be possible to reach Kedarnath from Sonprayag in 25 minutes.The walking distance from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham is about 16 kilometers, as it is located at an altitude of 11,500 feet above sea level. Meanwhile, according to the vision of the Prime Minister, Kedarpuri flourished in a new color and the need for construction of a ropeway was emphasized for the convenience of the devotees. Similarly, the demand for ropeway for Hemkund Sahib also arose. To reach Hemkund Sahib, one has to walk a distance of about 5 km from Ghangaria.
Kedarnath Dham Ropeway Project MOU Signed
On his visit to Uttarakhand on 5th November 2021 , Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke of development in the hills and of developing tourism in the region, also announcing a project involving cable cars to ferry tourists. Referencing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the Vishwanath Dham project in Kashi, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for reconstruction projects worth over Rs 400 crore at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand with Assembly elections just a few months ago.
in view of the construction of ropeway in the state, the government has signed an MoU with the National Highways Authority of India. The authority has entrusted a company to prepare the DPR for the ropeway construction of Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib. Apart from this, such tenders have also been invited, so that the private sector can come forward for these projects. If this does not happen, then the government will get these two ropeways constructed.
