On Monday, Devasthanam Management Board informed Chad Dham Yatra is continuing in Uttarakhand despite snowfall. As the snow began to fall, the cold spread to the low-lying areas of Uttarkashi district, including Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham.


A layer of snow has covered the roads near Kedarnath Shrine and clearing operations are underway. The helipad has been covered in snow and the helicopter service has been halted.Meanwhile, the road to Badrinath Shrine is smooth.

After the Nainital high court approved the travel of fully vaccinated tourists with negative RT-PCR results for Coronavirus (Covid-19), the pilgrimage to the four temples began on September 18 this year.Last week, the Uttarakhand government had temporarily suspended the Char Dham Yatra amid torrential rains. Incessant rainfall across Uttarakhand and adjoining Himachal Pradesh has brought normal life to a virtual standstill and caused widespread damage.
