Crocodile Park Khatima Uttarakhand Overview
Crocodile Park Khatima : The state’s first Crocodile Eco Park has been completed. Visitors can see more than 100 crocodiles within a radius of two kilometers. In addition to this You can also enjoy a jungle safari here, similar to the one in Corbett Park. Over a 400 crocodiles have their own world within the two kilometer Kakra drain that traverses the dense forest of the Khatima Surai range adjoining the Indo-Nepal and UP borders.
Crocodiles can be found in Uttarakhand’s Corbett National Park, Terai area, some areas of Haridwar forest division, and Rajaji National Park. According to the latest wildlife census released by the state forest department in June 2020, crocodile numbers have increased in the state from 123 in 2008 to 451 in 2020.
In addition Kakra Crocodile Trail, the Khatima City Forest and Chuka Migratory Bird Centre will be developed in Khatima. The process of development of Khatima City Forest and Chuka Migratory Bird Center has been started. This project will help to boost tourism activities in Khatima region.
