The Valley of Flowers Now reopened for tourists. On Last Friday, 130 tourists went on a tour of the valley. The movement of tourists was stopped in the valley after foot bridges were overflowing and Valley of flower trek were damaged at various places. The Public Works Department has completed the work of repairing the trek along with making a temporary bridge. Valley Forest Officer Chetna Kandpal told that after the repair of the trek is completed, the tourists have been allowed to go.

Why Valley of Flowers National Park Temporarily closed ?

Valley of Flowers National Park : A heavy rainstorm hit Valley of Flowers National Park recently resulting in landslides and cracks on the trek route. Valley of Flowers National Park will stay closed for now and will reopen after the cracks are repaired and the trek routes are safe. In order to find out whether any tourists got stuck in the valley, the district administration team visited the site, took stock of the situation ,and explored how to restore connectivity.

Heavy rain caused a landslide near Dwaripul, this place has a glacier point and a sliding zone . due to security reasons the administration decided not to take any chances now,
so all routes leading to the Valley of Flowers national park will be closed. rains are continue to hit and landslide is continue on the trek.

There’s a strong possibility that the rest of the trek route will be washed away too, and there’s a need for an alternate alignment of the route to facilitate smooth movement of visitors The Dwaripul Zone, where the landslide has occurred, also witnessed major devastation during the Kedarnath tragedy of 2013 and, since then, it has seen recurrent landslides and is in urgent that trek need to be repaired.
